Pride Month: How to celebrate in the Lehigh Valley with these events

June is Pride Month, an annual celebration of the LGBTQ community. Check out some events happening in the Lehigh Valley area:

Pennsylvania Playhouse and Bradbury-Sullivan Center present “Pennsylvania Slayhouse,” 7 p.m. June 6, featuring Carol Ann, Georgia Versace Couture, Divinity Cruz, Kali Coutour, and Elektra Fearce St. James as host. Tickets are $20 advance and $25 at the door. A portion of the proceeds supports the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center.

Nazareth Area Pride, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. June 8, New Creations United Church of Christ, 3730 Nicholas St., Easton. Drag performances, DJ, Doggy Drag Contest, drag story time, food, businesses, craft vendors.

Schuylkill PrideFest, noon-5 p.m. June 8, Schuylkill County Fairgrounds, 2270 Fair Road, Schuylkill Haven. Headliner 2023 Miss Gay America, Tatiyanna Voche as well as 2023 Miss Gay Pennsylvania America, Morgan Morgan Morgan, 24 drag performers, singer/songwriter, Jaycie Cuprill and Band, crowning of Schuylkill PrideFest Royalty, a crowning Jr. Pride Royal, “Glitter” and Drag Storytime with “Glitter” and “Justice Twist,” vendors, food trucks, desserts, art vendors, crafters, businesses, services, health, human resource and outreach organizations. .

Perkasie Pride hosts Family Drag Bing, 7-9:30 p.m. June 15. Music by Balena, one of the stars of the Philly drag scene, prizes, trivia and snacks. $20; $10, teens; $35, family four pass. Location provided to ticket holders before the event. .

NEPA Pridefest Royale Pageant and Pridefest Parade and Celebration, June 22-23. Scranton, Wilkes-Barre. Area local drag superstars compete for the crown of NEPA Pridefest Royale, 6-9 p.m. June 22 at the Hilton Scranton & Conference Center, 100 Adams Ave., Scranton. The event features performances and entertainment, cash bar, and includes a variety of hors d’oeuvres. $15. PrideFest Parade and Celebration, noon-4 p.m. June 23, Public Square, Wilkes-Barre.

Perkasie’s Pride themed Farmers Market, 9 a.m.-noon, June 29, 7th and Chestnut streets, Perkasie. .

Slate Belt Pride, noon-6 p.m. July 13, Broadway Street, between South First and South Main streets, Bangor.

Lehigh Valley Pride, 2-7 p.m. Aug. 18, SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. Over 300 vendors, artists, community organizations, sponsors and accessibility features such as ASL interpreters, indoor sensory-friendly areas, spirituality space, more.
