All Allentown Fair activities have resumed Wednesday evening after the threat of severe weather briefly disrupted opening night festivities.
A nearby thunderstorm prompted the fair to warn people to seek shelter around 8:20 p.m., according to a The headline performance by Cheap Trick was also delayed by 30 minutes.
With the storm threat having passed, the that all normal activity had resumed, with Cheap Trick’s show about ready to start.
The severe weather threat followed a day of high heat and humidity in the Lehigh Valley, with the region under a heat advisory.
A slight risk of severe weather will continue through the night and again Thursday, but heavy rain and flash flooding are not likely, forecasters said. However, Thursday will be much cooler, with high temperatures in the 70s.
