UPDATED:

A sinkhole has opened again along Main Street in Palmer Township.

Ron Young, a PennDOT spokesperson, said the sinkhole opened Monday on Main Street near Carson Court, not far from Route 33. Eastbound lanes of Main Street are closed in the area.

PennDOT’s Northampton County maintenance office is repairing the road, Young said. The plan is to have the work completed and the lanes opened on or before Friday, he said.

A sinkhole opened in that same spot in late March. It took a little over a week for repairs to be complete. Rain affected the repair schedule.
