A 90-year-old woman died Monday after she was hit by a vehicle in a parking lot in South Whitehall Township.
Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said in a news release that Evelyn M. Rushatz was run over by a vehicle about 1:20 p.m. in a parking lot in the 100 block of North Cedar Crest Boulevard.
Rushatz was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where she died from her injuries about 2 p.m., according to the release. Her cause of death was blunt force trauma, with the manner accidental.
Township police said in a news release that Rushatz she was a passenger in a vehicle which was being driven by a man. She was hit by the vehicle after she got out, according to authorities. The department said no additional information would be released Tuesday out of respect for the families involved.
South Whitehall police and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
