The Bethlehem couple found dead Saturday from gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide have been identified by the Northampton County coroner.

The couple were married and resided at the home where they were found in the 700 block of Redfin Lane, Coroner Zachary Lysek said Tuesday evening.

Celeste L. Kistler 78, died as the result of a homicide, while her husband, Larry A. Kistler, 80, died as the result of suicide, Lysek said. No additional information about the deaths is being released at this time, he said.

Bethlehem police discovered the bodies after being called to the residence for a welfare check Saturday morning. Police said there was no danger to the public.

On Monday, Northampton County DA Stephen Baratta said he expected to release more information in the coming days.
