UPDATED:

The woman killed in a horrific crash that closed Stefko Boulevard in Bethlehem for hours Sunday has been identified.

Leanna Farraj, 24, of Brooklyn, New York, died from multiple blunt force injuries in the crash, Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek said Monday evening. The manner of death was accidental, Lysek said.

The single-vehicle crash happened just after 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Stefko Boulevard, at the intersection with Bayard Street. The car crashed into utility poles, according to Bethlehem police Capt. Nicholas P. Lechman.

Bystanders at the scene removed Farraj from the vehicle and began rendering first aid, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

A second person was trapped in the vehicle and had to be freed. That person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but was expected to survive, Lechman said Sunday evening.

Authorities have not said who was driving. Lysek said no additional information about the crash will be released at this time.

Speed is believed to have contributed to the crash, Lechman said.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Bethlehem police at 610-865-7000 or BethlehemPolice@bethlehem-pa.gov. Information can also be provided anonymously via the department’s tip line at 610-691-6660.
